I'm Mike 


Michael Boyle, LMFT, CDBT

I am a licensed psychotherapist and optimal performance coach, specializing in "real deal" emotional intelligence, and Embodied Aliveness Trauma Transformation (EATT). I help people to metabolize distress and difficulty, to fuel lives worth loving, in practical, methodical ways combining heart, humor, and grit. 

In August of 2024, I learned I had a gaping hole in the center of my chest that had been wreaking havoc on my body and mind for more than 2 decades. For more than half of my life, I had a half-functioning lung, a paralyzed diaphragm, and my liver was stuck in this hole and becoming calcified from loss of blood flow. 

My wife and 3 children had never even known me without this debilitating medical condition. Yet, I was a clinical director of various mental health programs, I founded a behavioral health center that still serves thousands of families to this day. I started my own business and moved my family from New Mexico to Mexico to learn about our roots and become bilingual before returning to the Boston area, where I grew up, for expert medical care and the best of the best educational, cultural, and athletic opportunities for my kids. 

For 24 years my choice was to either become an expert at thriving even though tough stuff happens or to suffer and fail to be present for my family, career, community, and a life of joy, meaning, purpose, and contribution. 

Thankfully, through that discovery in the summer of '24, I was able to undergo a life-saving surgery that now enables me to fully taste the fruits of my almost obsessive efforts to learn and implement every practical tool I could find from inside and outside the box for healing and thriving. 

When you go through something like that, for so long, one often comes to a internal crossroads: give up or open UP. In the space of deep uncertainty, on the other side of fear, we often stumble upon a place inside and all around us that some call "Spirit." 

The first time Spirit spoke to me was after a debilitating affair with depression in college, when this Spiritual place awoke inside me and I've been following its call ever since. Always a practical person, I've been obsessed with cutting away the frills of the "woo-woo" and chucking out the snake oil that often abounds in the field of "holistic" health and "I'm not religious but I am spiritual." 

This workshop is my heart-child, born through decades of personal and professional clinical experience, a wild passion for learning anything and everything that works, and my sincere desire to be the greatest possible benefit to my community in these challenging times.

Nervous System 101, how you can use self-understanding and the mechanics of your body, mind, and spirit to optimize performance, heal, and thrive

This is information for transformation - practical and time-tested, Mike has taught this stuff to people from all walks of life who have experienced the worst of what humanity can throw at them.
